Sorour is a postgraduate researcher based in ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Business School, Department of Decision Analytics and Risk at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Sorour’s research focuses on dealing with health care system problems during catastrophic events mainly using methodologies such as simulation and optimization.
Sorour’s current research focuses on improving the performance of health care systems during disasters. For this purpose, she is developing a dynamic, simulation-based optimization model to address the problem of a network of hospitals during mass casualty incidents by measuring the functionality of some hospitals with specific features. She considers combining these techniques to provide valuable guidance for decision-making in hospitals disaster management.
Before joining the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ as a postgraduate researcher, Sorour worked on addressing health care system resilience and disaster response particularly in emergency department settings, using simulation and optimization.
