Jingwen Song is a PhD student based in ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Education School at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Jingwen’s research focuses on climate change education in the early years, specifically how to develop the pedagogical competence of early childhood teachers in this field.
Jingwen’s project is looking at climate change education in early childhood. Her study will explore the enhancement of in-service teachers’ knowledge, teaching skills and beliefs in climate change education in early childhood by developing and implementing a Teacher Professional Development (TPD) programme in China. Jingwen's aim is for her project to have an influence on promoting climate change action through education and contribute both locally and internationally to addressing this global crisis.
Jingwen obtained a BA in Preschool Education from Hebei Normal University, China and an MSc in Education from the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ prior to her PhD study. Jingwen holds a National Kindergarten Teacher Certificate in China. She worked as a trainee teacher in both public and private international kindergartens before she came to the UK.
