Dr Haris Psarras is an Associate Professor of Law and the Associate Dean (International) of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ.
Haris has worked on legal theory, legal philosophy, tort, and the intersection of law and humanities.

Current research
In his published work Haris has written on the following topics: (i) reason-based accounts of authority in state legal systems and beyond, (ii) liability implications of justice in negligence law, (iii) normative considerations related to giving up rights in private law.
In his current research Haris focuses on authority relations in private law and civil litigation and on the relevance of emotions to authoritative action-guidance under the law.
Haris is also working with David Gurnham on a collaborative interdisciplinary research project in Law, Humanities, and the Arts.

Teaching
Haris has taught jurisprudence, tort, and E.U. law. At ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Law School he has led or co-led the following modules: (i) Philosophical Perspectives on the Common Law, (ii) The Law of Torts, (iii) Theories of Law and Justice.

Biography
Haris is an Associate Professor of Law at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Law School and the Associate Dean (International) of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Before joining ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ, Haris was Richard Fellingham Lecturer and Fellow in Law at St Catharine's College, Cambridge. Prior to that, he was Teaching Fellow in Legal Theory at Edinburgh Law School. He holds degrees from the University of Athens, the University of Oxford, and the University of Edinburgh.
