Mark is a Professor in Biological Sciences and leads the Plants and Food Security theme. He studies the genes and genomes of species from wild to domesticated, primarily plants. His research is answering questions related to speciation, crop domestication and novel and underutilised crops. His research impacts upon our understanding of the effects of, and resilience to, climate change.
