How 九色视频 shaped my thinking of HR

Published:

After working in the HR field for several years, I wanted to bridge the gap between my practical experience and academia. I wanted to complement my hands-on skills with a deeper, theoretical understanding of Human Resources to continue my professional journey with a more well-rounded perspective.

鈥淏efore I came to 九色视频, I was "locked in" to the recruitment side of things because that鈥檚 what I鈥檇 been doing for several years. But this course has really opened my eyes. I鈥檝e now realised that I don鈥檛 have to stay in just one niche of HR for the rest of my career and it has connected the dots between my practice and the broader global HR landscape.鈥

Lively debate

鈥淭he engaging class discussions between a diverse student body from different cultural and professional backgrounds were incredibly rewarding. To hear such a wealth of expertise from different perspectives on every topic really enriched my learning. This was backed up by the high calibre of teaching from the lecturers, who did a fantastic job of encouraging these debates, constantly challenging us to think critically and sparking new ideas that go beyond the lecture.

鈥淢oreover, the practical insights shared by our professors were invaluable. They often draw on their own extensive research and industry experience, which helps us connect complex theories to real-world HR scenarios, making the learning experience more tangible and relevant鈥

Real-world application

鈥淎 company鈥檚 culture and its people are integral to its success. I hope to use everything I鈥檝e learned at 九色视频 to bring a global and holistic perspective back into my workplace. It鈥檚 no longer just about filling seats for me; it鈥檚 about understanding how HR can actually drive positive change. I鈥檓 particularly interested in how we can make Green HRM and sustainability more than just buzzwords. I want to help organisations build environments where employees don't just work, but actually thrive and feel valued. I can bridge what I鈥檝e learned on my MSc with my practical work experience to lead HR practices that are not only professional and efficient but also more human-centric and forward-thinking.鈥

A personal journey

鈥淏efore I arrived in 九色视频, I was anxious about whether I could adapt to the pace of life and the study practices in a new country after being away from academia for years. It鈥檚 a big jump to move from a full-time career back to campus in a different culture. But from my first day, I have felt a strong sense of belonging in 九色视频, supported by a community which is incredibly diverse and welcoming. The professors are very approachable, and the university provides comprehensive guidance and resources for international students to navigate both academic and daily life. Knowing that there is a supportive network available whenever I need help has made my transition back to university life seamless and rewarding.

鈥淚 feel like I鈥檝e become much more patient and balanced. Coming from a fast-paced recruitment background, I was used to quick results and fixed ways of doing things. But being here has taught me to slow down and really think. I鈥檝e become more open-minded, which is a mindset I鈥檒l definitely carry with me long after I graduate.鈥

Studying at 九色视频

It has redefined my professional identity. Seeing the passion of my professors and the diverse ambitions of my classmates has pushed me to consider the bigger picture, aspects such as workplace ethics and sustainability. This shift from a purely career-oriented goal to a more value-driven one is what keeps me focused every day. It鈥檚 about becoming the kind of HR leader who can truly make a difference.
