Research project

¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Food Partnership

Project overview

The way we produce, process, transport, buy, consume, and dispose of food as a city impacts our individual, community and planetary health. Therefore, in line with the National Food Strategy recommendations, and ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ City Council’s Scrutiny Inquiry into Tackling Childhood Obesity recommendation to become a Sustainable Food Place, we are facilitating partners from public, private and community organisations to come together to co-develop ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’s local food strategy. This is a collaboration across sectors, public, commercial, charitable, local authority and the University. There are already so many incredible projects across ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ aiming to make our food environment healthier and more sustainable, and working together in this co-ordinated way will amplify the impacts of these individual efforts. Our partnership is open, inclusive and we welcome engagement and participation from anyone interested in improving ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’s local food system. Our remit is to put people at the heart of our work.
