Bei Jin is a Postgraduate research student based in Law School at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Her research focuses on examining whether the WTO can properly settle fisheries subsidy disputes, which focus on maintaining fisheries resources at a sustainable level rather than eliminating trade distortions.

Bei’s research focuses on assessing WTO’s potential to contribute to ocean sustainability through dispute settlement. In other words, her research questions, in the context of the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies, how the WTO dispute settlement mechanism should interact with different regimes when settling fisheries subsidy disputes with environmental concerns.
Before joining the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ as a postgraduate research student, Bei Jin completed her bachelor’s degree in law at the University of International Relations, followed by an LLM in international trade law at the University of Leeds. After her LLM study, Bei worked as a paralegal specializing in anti-dumping and countervailing at the East & Concord Partners for a year.
