Dr Rahman Attar is a computer scientist specialising in artificial medical intelligence at the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS). He leads the and is involved in teaching and supervision at undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels. He also serves as an ECS Academic Conduct Officer.
Before joining ECS, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at . He holds BEng, MPhil and PhD degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, all supported by competitive full scholarships. His PhD was undertaken across the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the and the School of Computer Science at the , under the supervision of .
His research focuses on artificial medical intelligence and the development of advanced AI technologies for healthcare. He has contributed to a range of research and innovation projects, authored and co-authored peer-reviewed journal and conference publications (), and regularly serves as a reviewer and programme committee member for leading venues in the field.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Member of the IET, and a Fellow of Advance HE.
