As part of the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ National Park City’s (26 May to 1 June), the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ, Infrastructure for Port-cities And Coastal Towns (iPACT) have created a public engagement event on Wednesday 28 May, 19:00-21:00 in the Sir James Matthews Building, Above Bar Street, ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ.

iPACT invites you to explore ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’s maritime history and discover the innovative strides being made in environmental sustainability at Urban Wild – Into the Blue. The evening promises to be both enlightening and inspiring, featuring talks from esteemed local academics and experts.
Explore the historical significance of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ as a pivotal maritime hub with Andy Skinner, Public Historian at SeaCity Museum. Dr Felix Pedrotti, Maritime Archaeologist, will reveal how modern technology is uncovering the hidden medieval maritime landscape of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Dr Cathy Lucas, Associate Professor in Marine Biology, will delve into the fascinating world of plankton in ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Water. Panos Manias, Maritime Engineer, will discuss the future of sustainable ferry transport and the path to decarbonisation by 2050. Prof. Andrew Cundy will address the pressing issue of plastic pollution in our local waters and beyond.
