On 15 February the Engagement & Advancement Events Team were delighted to support an online event, Celebrating ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ: UK City of Culture Bid 2025.

Hosted by Bhupinder Siran, Chair of the University’s Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Staff Network (BAME) and IT Strategic Business Partner, we heard from a fantastic panel, all passionate about ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµâ€™s bid application for UK City of Culture 2025.
We heard from Shelina Permalloo, Chair of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ 2025 Trust, MasterChef winner in 2012 and owner of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµâ€™s Lakaz Maman Mauritian Street Kitchen; Professor Fraser Sturt, Research and Evaluation Lead from the University; Rob Kurn, CEO of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ Voluntary Services and Claire Whitaker OBE, ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ UK City of Culture Bid Director. The speakers gave a compelling insight into the bidding process and their aspirations to win UK City of Culture 2025. They also answered many questions from our ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ community who are keen to be involved and learn more about the journey.
