The Periscope Whooping Cough study, sponsored by the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ, and based at the NIHR ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ Clinical Research Facility is a study investigating a novel method to protect people against the disease whooping cough.

If you are aged 18 – 55 and healthy and interested in taking part in a new study the project team would be pleased to hear from you.
Researchers in ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ have optimised the dose of bacteria needed so participants are infected without becoming sick. In this study this optimised dose will be given to participants and the immune response generated will be monitored.
The study involves attending visits at the and taking a course of antibiotics.
Participants will be compensated up to £1,000 for their time, travel and inconvenience.
