1 February is an important date in the Equality calendar as it marks the start of听.听Chosen to coincide with the abolition of Section 28 in February 2003, the month is a time to celebrate the achievements of LGBT+ figures throughout history.听听
Andrew Landells, Chair of听UoS听Pulse LGBT+ Staff Network writes, 鈥This is an important event for the LGBT+ community, as we have not always been well-represented historically. History Month gives us an opportunity to recognise the contributions of those members of our community whose legacies may not be as prominent in our culture.鈥听
UoS听Pulse LGBT+ Network will be organising听two听safe listening spaces听for network members and the听University community to participate in听during LGBT+听History Month.听It will provide colleagues听the opportunity to听share their stories听in a safe environment, where their voices will be heard听about the positive and听negative experiences听they听may have听faced.听听

Staff and students across the University will be organising a series of events for LGBT+听History Month.听听
