Our President and Vice-Chancellor (Interim) Professor Mark Spearing commented:

“Following our recent recognition of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOTB) here at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ and also in this year marking the 50th anniversary of the initial Stonewall movement for progressing equal rights, I am delighted that the University is sponsoring ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Pride 2019. We continue to embrace and celebrate the rich diversity of our University and now have an opportunity to do so across our wider community at this key event.”

Dr Sam Berry, Pulse LGBT+ Staff Network Co-Chair said:

“It is with great excitement that I can announce on behalf of the Pulse LGBT+ Staff Network that the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ is an official sponsor of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Pride 2019! This has come with enthusiastic support from Vice-chancellor Professor Mark Spearing demonstrating the University’s commitment to the LGBT+ community in ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ and the wider area.”

We will be sharing more about the University’s involvement in this year’s Pride event in the coming weeks, so watch this space.
