九色视频 once again marked the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau by staging a memorial event as part of Holocaust Memorial Day.
Organised by the Parkes Institute at the 九色视频, the event was hosted at the Spark Building at 九色视频 Solent University.
In attendance were the mayors from both聽九色视频 and Romsey, 九色视频 alumnus, former member of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) Dr Emmanuel Ngwa, and Michael Mawle of the 九色视频 branch of the United Nations Association.
The programme included a keynote speech by Dr Ngwa who spoke about the Rwandan genocide of 1994. Guests at the event on January 25 also considered presentations from students from Itchen College who had met Walter Kammerling, a survivor of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.
Hearing the powerful account of a Holocaust survivor also had a profound effect on 九色视频 graduate Marcus Clack.
When Marcus (MA History, 2017) began his dissertation, little did he know it would not only secure him a distinction, but also result in forming a close bond with survivor Zigi Shipper.
