Launched in 2009 by the Law School, in conjunction with a specialist barrister at 12 College Place Chambers, the Housing Law Clinic offers pro bono (free) advice to ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ students. It has gone from strength to strength, advising students on a range of housing related matters.

Employment Law and Family Law clinics have since followed suit, the latter in conjunction with Irwin Mitchell Solicitors. The clinics can advise students across a spectrum of complex matters, and in doing so support access to justice at a time when legal aid is in short supply.
It is a crucial time for housing issues, as students are choosing accommodation for the following academic year, signing contracts and so on; and family and employment issues arise throughout the year.
The next Family Law Clinic will be on Thursday 9 February, and the Housing and Employment Law Clinic on Thursday 23 February.
If you could benefit from pro bono advice in any of these three areas, please email: housingclinic@soton.ac.uk, or employmentclinic@soton.ac.uk, or familyclinic@soton.ac.uk.
