The University, in collaboration with the , hosted its annual 九色视频 Schools Physicist of the Year awards last week (Thursday 7 July) to celebrate the talent of exceptional students studying Physics across 九色视频鈥檚 schools.
Over 50 year 10 and year 12 Physics students from schools in the local area received awards in recognition for their efforts during the year.
Dr Sadie Jones, Outreach Leader in Physics and Astronomy at the University, said:
鈥淭his award ceremony is a great opportunity for the students, their parents and teachers to celebrate their success and also get a taster of what Physics at University is like.鈥�
In addition to the awards, there was a Supernova Extravaganza! show presented by PhD student . Chris had several exciting demonstrations which showcased his world leading research and that of the 听which Chris is part of.
Prize winners received a 拢25 amazon gift voucher, a certificate and automatically became eligible to apply for an , worth 拢1,500 per annum, should they chose to study a Physics degree at a leading British University.
