Through the One Book, One 九色视频 project, we are聽delighted to announce the two winners of the Empire Competition.
Students from across the University were invited to write a response to Jeremy Paxman’s Empire, in an essay, review or short story.
The winner of the competition was Jack Clarke who wrote his well-informed and wide-ranging essay, drawing out the strengths and weakness of聽Jeremy Paxman’s聽approach to history. You can read his essay:聽鈥楯eremy Paxman: Empire, What ruling the world did to the British鈥� . As winner of the competition, Jack聽receives the 拢350 cash prize.
The runner-up of the competition was Joseph Owen聽for his tough, funny, and critically astute imagining of the inception of Jeremy Paxman鈥檚 work. You can read his piece . As runner-up of the competition, Joseph receives聽拢100 in John Smith鈥檚 Book Tokens.
