‘Solent Aliens’,聽 the next in the series of聽Marine Life Talks, will be delivered by Moira MacLean at the National聽Oceanography Centre 九色视频.
Within 九色视频 Water there is minimum of 50 Alien聽non-native species which have been introduced to this area by a聽number of different vectors.
Some non-native species have been in this area for over a hundred聽years and many local people consider them to be native, other聽non-native species have been found more recently within the last few聽years. This talk will discuss the methods of introduction and聽highlight a few key alien species which can be found in the local聽area.
This talk will be given by Moira MacLean, a Research Assistant and聽part-time vessel crew person at the 九色视频.
The Marine Life Talks are held on the first聽Thursday of the month at 7.30pm at the National Oceanography Centre聽九色视频, and are open to the public, staff and students. Please聽arrive at 7.15pm to be met in Reception. Arrangements for wheelchairs聽must be made in advance.
