¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ

For January 2012‚ the Parkes Institute in partnership with Solent University is organising a full programme with schools and community groups for the commemoration of Holocaust and Genocide Memorial Day.

The commemoration will be held at the Sir James Matthews Building, ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Solent University on Thursday 26th January 6-7pm.

The evening will include:

• Slides and music from the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust

• Welcome by Phil Gibson and Rev Steve Hall

• Jenny Cuffe and guest on asylum and immigration

• The Multi Agency Group on Racial Harassment

• Students from Itchen College reflect on Holocaust testimony

• Students from the BA (Hons) Performance course at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Solent University perform a short work based on the testimony of Alice Sommer Herz, a survivor of the Terezin concentration camp, led by Matt Fletcher

• Retiring Collection

Refreshments will be available directly after the event.

There will be an opportunity to talk informally with those at the event, receive a memorial candle and take Holocaust Memorial Day Trust literature
