Supplementary Exams & HostingÌý

Active Enrolled Students

The ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ (UoS) has an expectation that all enrolled students will attend their primary campus for semesterised exams as standard (Semester 1 & 2). This policy is inclusive of all UoS campuses inc. ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Delhi (UoSD) and ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Malaysia (UoSM).

UoS students on intercampus mobility portions of their taught programme will be hosted at whichever campus they are based during the relevant exam period for semesterised exams.

Students engaged in active taught programme partnerships such as Erasmus Mundus or Year Abroad programmes, will have a valid exemption to apply to sit their semesterised exams at the relevant parter/Host institution as part of their taught programme delivery and visa compliance requirements.

Overview

Students who have not met the pass criteria in their assessments may have the opportunity to repeat the year. This is broken down into two categories:

Internal Repeat (Repeat Year Attending) – Repeating the year and attending lectures therefore paying tuition fees. All modules will be re-sat/deferred even if some were passed first time.

External Repeat (Repeat Year Not Attending) – Repeating the year externally therefore not attending lectures and do not pay tuition fees. IT and other services are still available. Only failed modules will be re-sat/deferred. Fees and charges will apply to the exams undertaken.

External Repeat students will be expected to return to the primary campus of their taught programme either; ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ UK (UoS-UK), UoSM or UoSD, to complete their repeat semesterised exams. Ìý

Scheduling

Wherever possible External Repeat students’ exams will be scheduled concurrently based on a core session start time of 09:30am UoS-UK time with local time adjustments.

In some rare circumstances External Repeat students may not be able to sit concurrently, and if approved would be allowed to sit at a different time as close to the main cohort as possible, allowing for local time adjustments.

In these cases, students are required to abide by the Regulations Governing Academic Responsibility and Conduct and must sign a disclaimer.

Scheduling Concurrency:

Some modules need to run concurrently across all locations or multiple campuses because of Accreditation or Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRB) regulations.

These modules will be scheduled based on a core session start time of 09:30am UoS-UK time with the UoSM group adjusted to a matching local time (16.30pm) and the UoSD group adjusted to a matching local time (14:00pm).
