¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ has an excellent track record in hosting and supporting externally funded research fellowships at all levels, nurturing fellows to the next stage in their academic and research careers. This includes, but is not limited to, schemes such as:

A fellowship at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ can provide you with the opportunity to have focused time to conduct independent research and enable you to establish your academic career in a vibrant, inclusive, research-intensive environment with mentoring from world leaders.
Why ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ?
It is important to think carefully about your choice of host institution and where you will have the best opportunity to develop your career. You will need to justify your choice of host institution to the funder on your application.
Externally-funded research fellows at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ will benefit from:
- a world-leading research environment
- first class facilities and infrastructure
- support from both academic staff and professional service staff through the application process, including guidance on how to write your PI response as well as practice interviews
- once you start your fellowship, mentorship and training through your sponsor, host school and faculty events
- access to our Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP), which offers information and workshops for Education, Research and Knowledge Exchange & Enterprise activities
- access to support from Research & Innovation Services for research funding development, industry, IP, integrity, ethics, impact, public engagement and policy
In addition:
- We have a strong track record of offering a permanent academic position at the University upon completion of externally-funded fellowships
- Subject to discussion with the relevant School or Faculty, long-term externally-funded fellows are supported by, for example, a PhD student, equipment and pump priming funding
