Policy Associates 2025/26

Mollie Ruler

Mollie Ruler
Ìý

Mollie is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Social Sciences, specialising in the politics of criminal justice reform. Her research examines the persistence of the prison crisis and explores how to secure the public support and political will needed to implement substantive, long-term solutions. Mollie’s broader academic interests lie at the intersection of public opinion, social psychology, and criminal justice.

Looking ahead, Mollie aims to pursue a research career within academia, the third sector, or the Ministry of Justice (or, with good fortune, all three), contributing to meaningful advancements in criminal justice reform. She hopes that her experience as a Policy Associate with PPS will help her build networks beyond academia, explore alternative career paths, and gain valuable insight into the policymaking process.
