Naimal (Mia)Â Nadeem LLB Accelerated JD pathway
2nd year student
My experiences at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ have been an adventure. As a young girl straight from high school, moving to the UK was a test, very challenging one at that too, but I have learned to be bold, I have matured and I have become fearless.
One word to sum up my experience at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ is definitely ‘DARING’.
My first year experience at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ was an amazing one, but not without its fair share of challenges. Not only was I beginning a new level of academic study, but I was doing so in a new country and in a system with which I had no previous experience. I know just how intimidating, challenging and overwhelming such an experience can be, but I have made many friends from my year at Mayflower Halls of residence. The city of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ is always alive, it feels very safe and energized.
I am a member of the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Law Society, the Canadian Law Society and the Inns of Court Society, and I was chosen to be a Mentor in last year’s Clyde & Co Challenge. Working under the leadership of experts at the University along with other bright peers has allowed me to gain immense skills.
I enjoy the international connection in my modules because the world we live in today is global. Furthermore, being from Canada I find it important to make links in my work.
