Senior Scientist Doris Howell will be a Diamond Jubilee International Visiting Fellow at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ from 2014 - 2017.

Host: Professor Claire Foster, Director of the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group (MSRG), Health Sciences.
Aims of the collaboration
- To develop a shared UK-Canada agenda in cancer survivorship self-management research.
- To collaborate in theory-based intervention design of self-management interventions for testing in the UK and Canada
- To establish academic and exchange links between the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the University of Toronto.
Fellowship activities in 2014
- First Fellowship visit to the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ
- Collaborative discussions with the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group
- Discussions regarding potential collaborative exchange activities
- Preparation of varied funding proposals
Fellowship activities in 2015 & 2016
- Quarterly meetings to develop and refine joint research training programme in cancer survivorship/self-management interventions.
- Development of collaborative project proposal to apply for grants
- Discussion of potential for joint training opportunities and exchange programme
- Plans for co-supervision of a PhD student as part of University of Toronto International Visiting Student Exchange programme
- Funding applications to support post-doctoral Fellow exchange
- Exploration of opportunities for sustaining longer term collaboration
