Research Fellow
Dr Ping Lu is a Research Fellow within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ.
Ping obtained her BSc in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Beijing Institute of Technology (China) in 2011. She then undertook a MSc study in ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ, and obtained a degree with Distinction in Advanced Mechanical Engineering.  Followed this she carried out her PhD at the national Centre for Advanced Tribology at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ.
Currently Ping is working on the EPSRC project ‘Early detection of contact distress for enhanced performance monitoring and predictive inspection of machines’. Prior to her appointment at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ, Ping has held post-doctoral research positions at the University of Sheffield investigating the tribological properties of laser clad rail or rail components.
