I think I might have a Specific Learning Difference (SpLD)

Ìý

If you think you have an SpLD, it would be helpful for you to provide us with supporting information so that we can understand how best to support you during your time at University.Ìý

On this page, you can find further advice on how to access supporting information.Ìý

I think I might have an SpLD - I did NOT have exam arrangements during school/college

If you think that you may have aÌýspecific learning differenceÌý(such as dyslexia, dyspraxia or slow cognitive processing) but haveÌýnotÌýpreviously accessed exam arrangements during school/college, we recommend that youÌýcomplete our screening questionnaire as an initial first step.Ìý

Please note:ÌýOur screening is only available to current enrolled students and doesÌýnotÌýdiagnose specific learning differences.ÌýWe do not offer screening for ADHD or autism and recommend that you speak to your GP in the first instance for advice on obtaining these diagnoses.

If weÌýrecommended a full diagnostic assessment as an outcome of your completed screening,Ìýyou will be given information on how to find a private assessor.Ìý

You can find a link to our screening and further information on our .Ìý

I think I might have an SpLD - I had exam arrangements (such as extra time) during school/college

If you previously accessed exam arrangements during school/college, instead of completing our screening, please and upload a copy of your JCQ8 form so that we can review the information on the form.Ìý

A JCQ8 form is what schools/colleges must complete for students receiving exam arrangements for their public exams, such as GCSEs, A-levels and equivalent. You can obtain a copy of this from your school/college.

Full diagnostic assessments

A specific learning difference diagnostic assessment can range between £400 and £600 in cost andÌýmustÌýbe carried out by a specialist teacher/assessor with a current Assessing Practising Certificate (APC) or psychologists registered with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC).Ìý

We can provide in-house diagnostic assessments free of charge for current enrolled students who meet certain criteria. For further information please visit our .Ìý
