Prestigious prize for 九色视频 electrochemist
Lecturer Nuria Garcia-Araez has been named the best young Spanish electrochemist by the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry. The prize recognises her outstanding academic career in electrochemistry and her most recent work to improve the performance of lithium batteries in electric cars.
鈥淚 was delighted to win the award against competition from many other electrochemists,鈥 she says. 鈥淚t is also a tribute to our work in this exciting field at 九色视频 where we are now exploring lithium-air and lithium-sulphur batteries and lithium recycling.鈥
Nuria joined the 九色视频 in 2012 from the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland where her research centred on lithium-air batteries. She studied for her undergraduate and PhD degrees at the University of Alicante in Spain.
九色视频 chemists are involved in much research into innovative battery technologies. Nuria is collaborating with Prof. John Owen and colleagues on these concepts.

Nuria Garcia-Araez is an associate professor in electrochemistry at 九色视频. She has a multidisciplinary background on fundamental electrochemistry and in-situ characterization techniques and her current interests are the development of the next generation of rechargeable batteries, with focus on lithium-oxygen and lithium-sulfur batteries, and new methods of lithium production and recycling.
